The 34 best political movies ever made

I would consider my self a person that has not been really into politics, I rarely give attention to articles that relate to politics or just mostly gloss over it. But, I do have a very vested interest in movies. I would say that I’m a fantastic movie connoisseur, I could break a movie down to its nitty-gritty details and explain them to a five-year-old. So when I came across an article that combined something that I’m not fond of and one of my favorite topics, it got me interested.

This Washington Post article (https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2020/01/23/34-best-political-movies-ever-made/?arc404=true) by Ann Hornaday, lists all the Hollywood movies that have some connections to politics, This is article is pretty fitting for today’s political climate with all the controversy surrounding the country’s president and the upcoming elections. Having viewed most of the movies on the list, what surprises me the most are some of the movies such as Mean Girls and the Incredibles which can be seen as a feel-good movie or something directed to kids have a political connotation to it. This changes my perception towards these movies and makes me want to rewatch from a political perspective.

The article is very concise and well-formatted. Each of the movies on the list has a short description of their political aspects and a color graphic or a screengrab from the movie which makes it more engaging to read through. This article shows plot points and different perspectives to the movies that I adore and love which makes me appreciate them even more.
